How we avoid fraud

From time to time, you may receive emails which appear to be sent by Ventury Games but that have actually been sent from unreliable sources. This practice, known as spoofed email (fake emails), may put you at risk. Please be on alert because sometimes these emails appear to come from valid email addresses.

Usually, the fraudulent party’s tactic is to ask you to click on a link within the email that takes you to a fake web site where you will be asked to enter personal information such as your Ventury Games user name, you password, or even your credit card number. This practice is called a phishing attack. It is actually an attempt to steal identity information from you for further illegal use.

How to identify such emails

One of the most common hooks is to send an email that reports a serious problem with your account, and, for example, threatens to close it if you don’t respond to the email.

Usually they will ask you to confirm information about your account by clicking on a link which is included in the email.

This link looks authentic because it contains the words Ventury Games. However, please bear in mind that all of our addresses are hosted under the www.venturygames.com domain and we never use any other.

Another hint: Often, these emails include spelling or grammatical mistakes. This is because doing so helps emails like this get through unwanted email and anti-spam filters.

How to Protect Yourself

Never click on links contained within unsolicited emails

Even if you haven’t included any data, just clicking the link may leave your computer susceptible to any virus or other software capable of copying all information typed on your keyboard.

Never cancel a subscription (unsubscribe)

If you receive an unsolicited email where the term unsubscribe is listed (to cancel a mailing list subscription), DO NOT follow the instructions. This trick is frequently used to illegally create a mailing list of active email addresses.

Keep track of your Ventury Games account on a regular basis

Ideally, you should check the “My Game History” area for your account on the Ventury Games web site. If you see any operation you don’t recall having done or if you suspect a fraudulent activity may exist, you must call us immediately at our number: 00 350 51 710 (english only) or email us at venturygames@pokerresponse.com (in english)
